Using Motivation Within a Letter

Motivation can be used in a variety of ways including verbal communication and even written communication. Great ways to use it include speaking, emailing, instant messaging, and even letter writing. Perhaps you are thinking of writing to someone. If so, you may want to use motivation within your letter. If you choose to do so, you will have to be very aware of your word choice within the letter.

Communicating with others in person involves using your voice tone, word choice, and even body language to help you communicate your message. Within a letter, you will only have your words to communicate your thoughts. While you can use capitalized letters to help emphasize things, it will still be
difficult to communicate all of your thoughts to the reader. You will need to carefully and wisely choose the words you are going to use, and you may want to have a few people read the letter to make sure your words are clear.

The most important thing that you will need to do when you are trying to use motivation within a letter is to connect with the person reading the letter. Start out by using some small talk that will start building a connection. You will not just want to blurt out that you are worrying about the person, but you will want to simply establish a connection with them. After you have established a friendly connection, then you will want to start talking about how you want to inspire and motivate them. Explain how you feel and how you want to help them make their life a better one.

The motive that you have for writing this letter will greatly be defined by the type of relationship that you have with the reader. If you are going to be benefited as well, then you need to make that clear also. You want to be honest if this is going to improve you life as well. If you need a favor, then you should just tell the reader if you have a great relationship with them. The truth will motivate them to make a change or make a decision; however, someone who feels that the have been lied to will not be motivated at all and will probably not be impressed with you at all either.

It is important that you are supportive and that you keep with the topic throughout the entire letter. Your wording should be very clear and direct as well. The letter should sound very honest and you should also come across as concerned for them as well. Understanding and kindness is important as well, and when you are kind, you will be better able to motivate them. Unkind words will probably drive them away, but kind words will help you to win them over. When you treat them with respect, more than likely they will also treat you with respect too.

You will need to be very respectful when you are trying to motivate a person through writing a letter. Use words to show respect and concern, and if you show your respect and concern, you will better be able to motivate them.

Motivation can be used effectively in a letter; in fact, it will be the only way that you can motivate some people. Be sure when writing the letter that you never write anything that you would not want other people to see. Also make sure that you never write things that you would not want others to think or feel about you. Make sure that you do not use bad language or rude language in your letter. If you do use less than savory language, it may come back to haunt you at a later date. It is important that you choose your words very carefully, and when you do so you will be able to effective communicate and motivate the person you are writing to.
