When the five basic needs are met, as well as self esteem needs, social needs, and your safety needs, you will be able to find your own motivation and will find the step of the theory that is called self-actualization. At this point you will start working every single day to be what you want to be in life. When basic needs are met, then people want to become better people and they become motivated on their own to work hard and meet common goals.
If you can find a way to meet the needs of your employees or your players, then you will be able to truly motivate them as well. There will be an understanding there and no doubt they will begin working harder to help accomplish the common goals of the group.
