Get Your Life Together!
SATISFACTION
Are you satisfied? This can be a loaded question. Satisfaction in your current life might be hard to gauge. When you step back and take a look at your life, do you feel as though you are on track and doing what you're supposed to be doing? Naturally there are many things that can set back your progress: having children, changing jobs, or falling ill, to name a few. Do you feel, however, that your life is where it should be? Satisfaction can be attained in your life, even if don't feel as though you are satisfied with the way things are going right now. It is the greatest dream to live a fulfilling life, one in which you feel satisfied with your daily dealings and accomplishments. And, although it is clear that a life like this does not come automatically, if you keep working towards it, it is certainly attainable.
Are you content? Being content is a little different than being satisfied. You might feel satisfied with the money you make from your job, but does your occupation bring you contentment? Do you feel as though you are a valuable member of society…a person who makes the world a better place? Some would argue that contentment in life is harder to reach than satisfaction, and this may be true, but there is no reason why someone can't alter his or her life in order to reach a state of true contentment. Start by simply asking yourself this question: "What would make me happy and content?" When you realize the answer, start figuring out what you need to do to get to where you want to be. The end result will bring you closer to true contentment.
What would make you feel happier with your life? Sometimes it is the smaller, more attainable goals that people feel a desire to reach, in order to create a happier life. Other people assert that setting huge, life-changing goals is the only means by which they will reach true happiness. If you aren't entirely sure what changes in your life will bring you true happiness, think back to the last few instances when you truly felt happy. What were the circumstances? Did friends surround you, or were you alone? If you were in the company of friends, maybe you need to make an attempt at participating in more social gatherings, and put more of an effort into making friends. Were you engaged in a hobby you adore? If so, perhaps it is time to figure out a way to make this hobby a more intricate part of your life, maybe even look into occupations that utilize or incorporate your hobby or skill. If you have found an activity that makes you happy, then you should make every effort to engage in this activity as much as possible. If you have yet to find an activity that makes you happy, then it is time to go on a search for one.
You start your quest in getting your life together by figuring out what it is that would make your life feel more complete. Do you want to be happier? Do you want to be more satisfied? Are you looking for more contentment in your life? If you don't know where you stand right now, then you certainly won't be able to figure out what you need to do in order to reach the happiness, satisfaction, or contentment you crave.
WHY CHANGE NOW?
Getting your life in order can entail many different things. Maybe your finances feel out of control, but your physical health is great. Perhaps you have the highest degree you can possibly attain, but your house is so full of clutter you can't see the floor. Whatever has led you to decide to get your life in order, there is no harm in making positive changes in every aspect of your life…even the ones that you didn't necessarily think needed improvement.
